During the event November 8-14, these cooks will compete for a $300,000 prize purse and the title of 2017 World Food Champion in Orange Beach, Alabama.

Five hundred teams from across the world will be seeking the ultimate food crown at this event. These competitors received the chance to compete at WFC by winning the Canadian Food Championships in Edmonton, Alberta in July, and will now have a shot for a major payday at WFC, where a $100,000 prize purse will be awarded for the best dish overall and a $10,000 package is awarded in 10 categories: Bacon, BBQ, Burger, Chef, Chili, Dessert, Sandwich, Seafood, Steak, and Recipe (Chicken).

About the Canadian Food Championships

The Canadian Food Championships is a high energy, high intensity, timed, double-blind judged cooking competition open to any Canadian resident with prizes valued at over $50,000. The World Food Championships features up to 500 culinary champions seeking food fame and fortune.
